Bog Standard Ireland was born in 2001. Alix Mulholland is the founder and creative force behind the unique giftware range of Irish linens, soaps and scented candles that combine traditional, rural Irish themes with a modern, minimalist twist.
Alix found that Irish giftware had failed to keep up with modern tastes and trends,
“I think a lot of traditional Irish giftware is a bit old fashioned. I wanted to create a range that bridged the gap between the old and new. I wanted Bog Standard products to be young and trendy, yet still earthy and homey, really capturing the essence of Ireland”
The range currently includes scented soaps, candles and house-hold linens. The candles and soaps have quirky themes such as Bread, Butter & Jam, Soda Bread, and of course the best selling Irish Linen. The linens are made from authentic Irish Linen, and the range includes Tea Towels, Apron, Oven Gloves and Tea Cosies.

“I don’t believe there is any point in selling gifts that people can’t use – this is practical giftware that can be used and enjoyed, and of course you are also buying or sending someone a bite sized taste of Ireland!”
